Fain Environmental performed geomorphic, hydrologic, and hydraulic analysis for the removal and replacement of an existing pedestrian bridge for Bellingham Parks. We assessed the geomorphology and developed a hydrologic and hydraulic 1-D Hydrologic Engineering Center-River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) to assess the amount of clearance between the 100-year water level and the bottom of the proposed bridge and potential scour. The proposed bridge will adequately convey floodwaters and allow for fish passage.
